Choice tonewoods — Sitka spruce and East Indian rosewood
When you pick up a Taylor, you can expect outstanding tone — and one of the leading reasons behind that signature Taylor voice is the use of high-quality tonewoods. This particular Taylor, the 416ce Rosewood B/S Fall Limited, is a prime example of just that. It features time-proven Sitka spruce as its top — which gives you projection — while its solid East Indian rosewood body gives the 416ce Rosewood B/S Fall Limited incredible detail and depth. This limited beauty also sports a Tropical American mahogany neck, which is lined with a smooth-playing ebony fingerboard.
Big sound, amazing tone
The 416ce Rosewood B/S Fall Limited centers on the concept of the Grand Auditorium body style, with the waist moved up toward the neck, and the lower bout a little more pronounced; Taylor made the Grand Symphony style a little bit bigger, and in reality, it's a lot bigger! The GS body shape does bear some similarities in shape to the Grand Auditorium, but it's a whole new guitar. In addition to pushing the waist up, Taylor widened it, lessening the "pinching" effect that can diminish the tonal output of the guitar. Coupled with the bigger, rounder lower bout, the new body geometry was now capable of producing a more powerful sound.
Taylor's goal with the GS body style was to design a guitar that has a deeper, piano-like bass, much more volume, and a good low-end sustain — without ruining the clarity of the mids and the highs. The GS has a great midrange. If you want, you can get a little bit of that midrange chunk that people like to hear in recording, but you also can play it more clearly. And if you just want to strum or play fingerstyle, the GS is loud and really bright.
Renowned Taylor Expression System electronics
Designed to faithfully reproduce your guitar's native tone, the Taylor 416ce Rosewood B/S Fall Limited's Expression System uses patented Dynamic Sensors to capture top and string vibration like never before. The Taylor ES system was created in partnership with renowned audio pioneer Rupert Neve — and the system is seamlessly integrated into the design of the guitar from the ground up. Onboard tone controls provide added flavor, or can be set flat for an uncolored, exceptionally clean amplified sound.
Fantastic finish
This guitar's lustrous gloss finish was developed at Taylor for maximum durability and resistance to cold-checking. This ultraviolet-cured finish is also more environmentally friendly than traditional lacquer finishes.
